More than 1 million antidrug booklets distributed by Scientologists in Cortina Olympics
A large-scale drug awareness effort in Italy has surpassed more than one million drug-prevention booklets distributed in the past month. The initiative forms part of the drug awareness programme known as “The Truth About Drugs”, which aims to provide clear information about commonly abused substances and their short- and long-term effects.
Approximately 500 volunteers are participating in the outreach effort, distributing materials in schools, eu newspapers businesses and urban centres. The campaign focuses on helping young people make informed decisions, providing resources designed to explain the dangers of drugs in a simple way.
The prevention effort is part of wider social programmes supported by the Church of Scientology, inspired by the work of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
